Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WeeConnect platform ("Service"), operated by Michael Speedie trading as WeeConnect ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

WeeConnect is a cloud-based management platform for Residents Associations ("RAs") in the United Kingdom. The Service enables RA committees to manage properties, residents, communications, documents, and finances for their community.

2. Definitions

  • Account — your registered user account on the Service.
  • RA — a Residents Association set up within WeeConnect.
  • RA Admin — a user with administrative privileges for an RA.
  • Member — a user associated with an RA (resident, committee member, or block lead).
  • Subscription — the paid or free plan under which an RA accesses the Service.
  • Content — any data, documents, images, or text uploaded to or created within the Service.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. RA creation is managed by WeeConnect — there is no self-serve signup for new associations. When you are invited to join an RA, you must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

RAs may operate on a Free plan or a paid subscription (Standard, Pro, or Custom). Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment processor, our third-party payment processor, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree that:

  • our payment processor will process your payment and handle VAT obligations on our behalf.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled.
  • You may change or cancel your plan at any time from the Billing page. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • If payment fails, your RA enters a 14-day grace period. If not resolved, the RA is downgraded to the Free plan, non-admin members are suspended, and stored files exceeding the Free tier limit may be permanently deleted.

Refund requests should be directed to our support team. Refund eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with your consumer rights under UK law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, RAs, or our infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying systems.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without written permission.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms.

6. Content and Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all Content you upload to the Service. By uploading Content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it as necessary to operate the Service.

We do not claim ownership of your data. If an RA's subscription ends, RA Admins may request an export of their data within 90 days of account deactivation. After this period, data may be permanently deleted.

7. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of planned downtime.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by your RA in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. RA Admins may cancel their RA's subscription from the Billing page.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your RA's payment remains outstanding beyond the grace period, or if we are required to do so by law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
